Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a color challenge.  Happy hopping!

I needed to make a few gift certificates, but I wanted to make the actual gift certificate a gift in and of itself.

I also wanted to try a new card design and my hand at calligraphy…Voila…

My card holder starts off with Real Red cardstock.  I scored it at 5-1/2″ and then cut t a diagonal from the inside corner to 2-1/4″ up from the outside.  I used Tear & Tape adhesive to seal my bottom and right edge.

I cut a pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and adhered it inside the card holder.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Christmas in Versamark ink on the outside of the card after wiping it with the embossing buddy, sprinkled it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.  I used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits to add a few Garden Green holly leaves and Gold Foil berries around it.

Now…for the gift certificate.  I took a panel of Garden Green cardstock and cut the top of it using the Scalloped Tag Topper (see my Instagram posts to see exactly how I did that).  I then matted on the one side the same pattern from the Quilted Christmas DSP and used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits again to add some detail to the corner.

On the opposite side I handwrote the words using a Garden Green write marker.  I’m becoming very fascinated with calligraphy, something I originally learned in high school, but calligraphy has really come so far.  I think I want to continue to work at it, but not bad for the first time.  I added a piece of Garden Green ribbon to the tag topper and wrapped around two bows (so both sides had a bow) in Linen Thread.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek Petal Palette

All cards are special and made with love…

But every now and then you make a super special one…

You know, the kind that’s almost hard to give away.  That’s today card for me.

You are going to LOVE the new Petal Palette Suite from the 2018 Occasions Catalog!!

Speaking of new product…I’ll be using the brand new Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set in my Facebook Live tutorial tonight at 7:30 EST.  Swing by and check out this bright and cheerful birthday card that can work for either a girl or a guy – it’s a win-win!

So back to today’s card, which I…Am…In…Love…With…

I start out with a piece of Watercolor Paper.  I stamped the larger flower cluster in two of the corners and the smaller cluster in the other two corners in Archival Blank Ink.  I also stamped the little chickadee in Archival Black Ink over one of the flowers in Archival Black.

I first colored the images in using the Watercolor Pencils.  The roses were colored in using the Melon Mambo pencil, the leaves in using the Old Olive pencil, and the chickadee in using the Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso pencils.  I then went over the images with an Aqua Painter to smooth out the color.

Next I took an Aqua Painter and Soft Sky ink pad and very lightly colored around the flower images.  I stamped the sentiment from the Petal Pallet stamp set in Archival Blank ink in the center of the card and then matted the Watercolor Paper on Melon Mambo cardstock and then adhered everything to a Soft Sky card.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Lots of Lavender Birthday

This month’s Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop theme is CelebrateI created a card to celebrate a birthday.  Happy hopping!!

My card today features one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items available beginning January 3rd…the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set.  It includes a lavender bunch, as well as a flower cluster and two-step stamping.

My card starts off with Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I took a panel of Old Olive cardstock and embossed it using the NEW Simple Stripes embossing folder (available to order January 3rd).  I matted this on Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the lavender bundle outline on Whisper White cardstock in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled it with Gold embossing powder and heat embossed it.  I stamped the lavender image in Rich Razzleberry ink over the flowers and the leaves and bow in Old Olive ink.  I cut this out using the Layering Ovals Framlits.  I cut out a gold label using the Everyday Label Punch, cut it in half, and adhered half on either side of the oval.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Lemon Zest stamp set on Whisper White cardstock in Rich Razzleberry ink.  Behind it I wound around some Gold Thread.  I also put a Rich Razzleberry banner behind it, as well as a piece of Mini Gold Sequins.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Bike Ride – Two Ways

My first order from the 2018 Occasions Catalog arrived and I’ve started playing with a few of the new goodies.

You are going to LOVE the new catalogs!!!!!

I feel like a kid in a candy shop playing with brand new product.  There’s something about opening a new packet of DSP or ribbon…so exciting.

Also be sure to check out my Product Share of all of the new Designer Series Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments.  I offer a number of options and you can check out all the details here.

My Facebook Live Video Wednesday night at 7:30 EST will feature the new Picture Perfect Party Suite.  Swing by as I give you a tutorial of a brand new card.  I have fun, and am very real, as I’ve been known to run out of adhesive, forget names of product, and even go live upside down.  🙂

On to today’s card…

I am all caught up on Christmas cards so I thought I’d use the Bike Ride Stamp Set today.

It’s been a bit since I’ve used it and I had so much fun, I thought I’d make two cards.  I’d love to know which one if your favorite.

Card number one starts off with Berry Burst cardstock.  I then took a panel of White Shimmery cardstock to create my scene on.  I cut out a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits from copy paper to create a stencil.  Next I put it over the Shimmery cardstock and colored the top part in using an Aqua Painter and Powder Pink ink and the bottom using Berry Burst ink.

Next I stamped the bike from the Bike Ride Stamp Set in Archival Black ink, as well as the flower clusters in two of the corners.  I used an Aqua Painter to color the flowers in using Berry Burst ink and the petals using Tranquil Tide ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set in Archival Black ink.  I matted the Shimmery White cardstock on Tranquil Tide cardstock and adhered everything to the card front.

Card #2 starts off with Tranquil Tide cardstock.  Next I stamped the bike from the Bike Ride stamp set in Archival Black ink in the center of a panel of White Shimmery cardstock.  I also stamped the flower cluster in Archival Black ink hanging off the bike.

I colored the bike and flowers in using an Aqua Painter and Berry Burst ink and Tranquil Tide ink.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Archival Black Ink from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set to the left of the bike.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Delivery

This week’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop is a sketch challenge.  Happy hopping!

The other day while looking through my ribbons I saw the Rich Razzleberry Stitched Edged Ribbon.  It got me thinking…I couldn’t remember the last time I had used Rich Razzleberry be it in paper, ribbon, ink.  It had been a long while and I really enjoy this color.

So that’s how we got today’s card.

My card starts off with (drum roll please) Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I then cut a Whisper White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.  I cut a pattern from the Birthday Memories DSP measuring 2-3/4″ x 5-1/8″ and adhered it to the top.  I took a panel of Rich Razzleberry cardstock measuring 1-1/8″ x 5-1/8″ to adhere to the bottom.

I then stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Deliveries Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I cut a scalloped oval for it to be matted on from the Layering Ovals Framelits.  Behind that I cut a 1″ Whisper White double banner .

Lastly, I adhered a Rich Razzleberry bow to the left of the oval and added a few Rich Razzleberry enamel dots.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Watts of Occasions Merry & Bright

So excited for tonight, I’ll be going live at 7:30 EST on Facebook giving a tutorial on Monday’s card which uses a coloring technique.  Swing by and check it out.

If you watch live and leave me a comment, I’ll send you a blank homemade card!!

For my card today, I’m using the Watts of Occasions Stamp Set.  I’m a sucker for punny sentiments and I love this set for that exact reason.

My card starts off with Old Olive cardstock.  I cut a pattern from the Merry Little Christmas DSP to cover the entire card front.  I then cut a smaller panel of Vellum to put over that.

Next I cut a panel of Basic Black cardstock the width of the card and stamped the sentiment from the Watts of Occasions stamp set in Versamark ink.  I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it.  I put an Old Olive enamel star and shape next to it.

I stamped the light bulb in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored it in using the Old Olive Stampin Blends markers.  I fussy cut it out and adhered to the card.  Next I cut out the light bulb rays using the Pocket Framelits and Old Olive cardstock.

Enjoy!

STAMPARATUS RESERVATION CHANGES:

As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period Stampin Up will take as many orders as they receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30.

Please note the following changes:

  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows: one reservation per customer and one per demonstrator.
  • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

PRODUCT LIST:

Stampin’ Up! Brightly Lit Christmas

I’m using the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle for today’s card.

It’s currently in the Year End Sale running now through January 2nd.  This promotion features current product on sale and retired product from the Holiday catalog.  Product is available while supplies last, so don’t wait!

My card starts off with a card base of Dapper Denim cardstock.  I then took a panel of Whisper White cardstock and used the brayer to create my background using Dapper Denim ink.  I rolled the brayer on the Dapper Denim ink pad (to pick up ink) and then starting from the one end rolled along the Whisper White from one end to the other.

The key is to only go in one direction, don’t go back and forth.  I repeated this over and over (a lot) until I get the darkness I was looking for.

I matted this on another panel of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

I used the Christmas Lamppost Thinlits Dies to cut out my lamppost from Basic Black cardstock and the lights from Daffodil Delight cardstock.  I also cut out a banner (to go behind the sentiment) from Dapper Denim cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Dapper Denim ink on a small panel of Whisper White and adhered it over the banner.  I cut out the snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies from Whisper White cardstock and adhered them around the card.

Enjoy!

Stampin’ Up! Country Christmas Card

My card today was inspired by this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  All the images looked sort of “country” so that’s what I was aiming for.

Today’s card is a preview of my Make & Take stamp class this coming week.  We’ll be making four cards (different than this one) using the Smitten Mittens Bundle.  If you live in the Upstate New York area and would like to attend, I would love to have you!!!  Head over to my Facebook page to see all my current parties

My card starts off with Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Next I took a pattern from the Wood Textures DSP and used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink to color the edge of the paper.  Then I took a 1″ banner of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and colored the edge with a sponge and Cherry Cobbler ink.

Then I made the mittens using the Smitten Mittens Bundle.  The back of the mittens was cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and the top from Crumb Cake cardstock.  I adhered them together and then used a sponge and Crumb Cake ink to color the edges of the mittens.  I adhered them to the bottom of the card and added a Cherry Cobbler ribbon bow.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and adhered it using Stampin Dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Stamparatus News & Year End Sale

STAMPARATUS RESERVATION CHANGES:

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided Stampin Up with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! Stampin Up couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that they’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.

As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period Stampin Up will take as many orders as they receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!

Please note the following changes:

  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Please note what has not changed:

  • If you reserved more than one stamping tool during the first reservation period, that number will not change; you will still receive the same number you reserved.
  • If you reserved one or more stamping tool(s) during the first reservation period, you may still order during the second window.
  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.

YEAR END SALE EVENT:

Head on over to my store for Stampin Up’s year-end sales event!!!  This is a combination of retired product (that once gone, is gone for good) and product on sale that will stick around (although not on sale) from the Annual Catalogs.

Product and sales is while supplies last!
